Day Camp in July

Are you between the ages of 9 and 14?

On July 22, 2014, North Carolina Cooperative Extension and 4-H will host an all day camp for 9-14 year olds in Hayesville. We will have a full day of exciting activities and FUN! Our theme, All About Nature, will start with insects and end with trees. Did you know there are three types of insects based on what they do for our environment? Did you know there are thousands of products we use and eat that are made from trees? Did you know there are bugs that are actually crustaceans (like a crab or lobster with a hard shell and several legs)? How many items from trees can you name that we actually eat?

We will answer these questions and many more at camp. We will also create projects and go “hunting” as we examine all the mysteries and miracles of bugs and trees. Come join in the fun! You can be a part of this by calling the Clay County Extension Office at 389-6305 or come to the office at 36 Davis Loop in Hayesville. Registration is required to insure we have enough materials for all participants. Camp registration fee is $10, payable with registration, and includes lunch, snack and materials for projects. Deadline for registration will be July 17, 5:00 p.m.

4-H is the Youth Development program for North Carolina Cooperative Extension. If you are looking for a positive way to create our next generation of leaders and participate in activities that make learning fun, call 389-6305 and find out more! Youth ages 5-19 can be a part of 4-H and adult volunteers are always needed to help out. Come be a part of the 4-H Revolution of Responsibility today!
