2015 Know Your Farmer Know Your Food Expo

Southern Appalachian Family Farms presents Know Your Farmer Know Your Food Expo Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Brasstown Community Center, 255 Settawig Road, Brasstown, NC 28902.  Admission is free to the public.  Doors open 10 am – 4 pm.  Come meet your local farmers producing everything from vegetables to cheeses to meats… From the farm to your table!  Learn about local foods, get answers to your questions and hear from the experts.  Seminars at 11am by Frances Juhlin and Theresa Goley at 2pm.  The SAFF Cafe will be serving chicken soup, chili con carne and pumpkin soup $8.00 all-u-can-eat.

Southern Appalachian Family Farms (SAFF) is a farmer-led, not-for-profit marketing organization serving Cherokee, Clay, Graham & Macon counties in Western NC. Our purpose is to provide educational farming opportunities to the surrounding community and to spur economic development in southwestern North Carolina by creating opportunities for local farmers.  The mission of the Southern Appalachian Family Farms is to preserve the agricultural heritage of rural Western North Carolina by developing both local and alternative sustainable markets to provide opportunities for our area farmers to utilize their land in more profitable ventures through access to resources, education and networking efforts.
