Extension Master Gardener Training 2016

Clay and Cherokee County Extension Offices are now taking sign-ups for the annual Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Certification Training for 2016.  The classes will take place Mondays & Thursdays, 9:00am-1:00pm, beginning Monday, March 7 and continuing through May 2.  Cost of the course is $100.
The Extension Master Gardener Program is a course that provides a minimum of 40 hours training in a variety of horticultural topics including:  botany, soil fertility, fruit plants, vegetable gardening, landscaping, woody ornamentals, plant propagation, wildlife, herbs, turf, weeds and more.  Also included in the training are a hands-on pruning, propagation and mushroom inoculation workshops.  In return, after the course is complete, the Master Gardener Interns provide 40 hours of volunteer service to the county through Extension & Master Gardener programs & activities during their 1st year as a volunteer.
