If you are interested in learning more about or joining the Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Union County,  the calendar for the 2021 training is posted on our website.

First up on the schedule are two Informational Sessions. The two Information Sessions are the same, just pick the date and time that fits your schedule. The first session will be held on January 26, 2021 at 6 p.m. and the second session will be held January 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. The Information Sessions will be held via Zoom and will last about an hour or so. This is the perfect opportunity to see if this volunteer program would be a good fit for you.

As part of the required training for Master Gardener℠ volunteers, the Extension Gardener spring series of classes begins on February 9. The Extension Gardener classes are open to anyone, but if you are interested in joining the Union County Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Union County, these are required classes. These classes are offered at 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings and repeated on Wednesday mornings, 10 a.m.–noon. These classes will all be held online using Zoom. The Extension Gardener series of seven classes are fee-based and pre-registration and payment are required.

Core training continues in the fall for those who want to become Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers with classes held on Wednesdays 10 a.m.–3 p.m. beginning on August 18 and continuing through November 10. Applications and payment for the Core training are due by April 16.

The complete training schedule can be found on our website. If you have questions just give me a call at 704-283-3729 or email dddillio@ncsu.edu
