The Clay County 4-H Program has received a total of $1,000 in matching grant funds from Modern Woodmen of America to support two youth development clubs focused on life skills, creativity, and hands-on learning.
Through Modern Woodmen of America’s Matching Grant Program, $500 has been awarded to the Clay County 4-H Culinary Creations Cooking Club and an additional $500 to the Clay County 4-H Rockin’ Bobbins Sewing Club. These funds will be used to enhance educational programming, purchase supplies, and expand learning opportunities for participating youth.
The Culinary Creations Cooking Club provides 4-H members with practical experiences in food preparation, nutrition, kitchen safety, and teamwork. Youth learn valuable life skills while gaining confidence in planning and preparing healthy meals. The matching grant funds will help offset costs for ingredients, cooking tools, and instructional materials, allowing the club to serve more youth throughout the community.
Similarly, the Rockin’ Bobbins Sewing Club focuses on developing sewing and textile skills while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and patience. Participants learn basic to advanced sewing techniques, garment construction, and textile care. Grant funds will support the purchase of fabric, sewing supplies, and equipment needed to provide hands-on learning experiences for club members.
