The Clay County Master Gardener Volunteer Association (CCMGVA) is pleased to announce it will be awarding the Carolyn Krueger Memorial Scholarship plus two additional scholarships to seniors at Hayesville High School.
The criteria for recipients is based on career interests, academic record, achievements, and community involvement. Each scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded for the student’s first year of post-secondary education. Applications are available from the HHS counselors and must be submitted by April 11, 2024. Students who have taken a class in the Agriculture Program at HHS will receive first consideration.
The Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Clay County connect people with the benefits of consumer horticulture through research-based information, educational programming, and community outreach. We support the community in a variety of ways including an annual plant sale (May 3-5 this year) which helps fund scholarships, the Downtown Discovery Garden, education, community gardens, after-school programs, and local organizations.
