Clay County Hosts ServSafe Class

(Updated: April 5, 2022, 12:26 p.m.)

Kim Terrell, Family and Consumer Science Agent, recently taught a ServSafe certification class for local food service establishments.  ServSafe is a food safety and sanitation certification program developed by the National Restaurant Association.  In the state of North Carolina, all food service establishments must have at least one person in charge that holds a food safety certification and they must be onsite during business hours.  When visiting a restaurant or food vendor, you may recognize the blue and white certificates framed and hanging on the wall.  These certificates indicate employees have successfully completed the course and exam.  For more information about future classes, please call Kim at 828-349-2048 or email at Kimberly_terrell@ncsu.edu
